从来不缺少随波逐浪的男男女女，他们以醉生梦死回应世界的空洞，而奥德莉为什么如此迷人呢？或许因为她的虚无不来自某种伤痕，也不因虚无而纵欲，这是无头蝇和蜻蜓的分别。作者为奥德莉设计了一套以重复为母题的音效系统，辅助营造影片整体的虚无感， ...
完成度很好。由表及里似乎有很多矛盾的设置，但是捏合在一起又很协调。作为处女作，有成型的美国独立电影美学，一种类似薄荷糖的清爽质感
过去三十年美国独立电影能成就Jim Jarmusch，却又近乎遗弃Hal Hartley，这种遗憾大概也是我们时代消费主义本性又一症候。抛开趣味和观念设定这些不甚高明的东西不谈，Hal在其长岛三部曲中以如此风格化情景剧式的编排所建构出的人物情感，却最终在观众端达成了如此真挚的流动性。这样天才动人瞬间，我可能在贾木许电影里连一秒钟都没感受到过。

“人不能信任，只能简易，制下约定，并且遵守约定，才是好人。”影像风格平淡自然，电影通过一个杀人犯的归乡之旅展开叙述，在流言之中逐渐揭开昔日罪人的层层面纱，每个角色都相对精致的同时还不乏一丝幽默。
