動畫，一種造夢以及相對來說與現實疏離的形式，被導演用來講述最殘酷的人類事件——戰争。始于一場夢境與對自己記憶的懷疑，福爾曼踏上了回憶之路。場景切換和各種音效的穿插幾乎完美，令觀衆在輕松和絕望之中徘徊。突破了類别的限制，這部動畫紀錄片在最後突然切換到真實的戰地影像令人猝不及防。像是福爾曼自己的記憶被喚起一般，原來真實，是這麼殘酷無情，而戰争及其後果，作為拟象存在于這世上，比真實還要真實，比痛苦更痛苦。

The sad thing is, today our world is still not better when fools could be kings, and the loveless patriotic, patriarchal machine would keep running through the manipulation of power. When would be the end to wars? I guess the only answer is to teach people how to love.
