從來不缺少随波逐浪的男男女女，他們以醉生夢死回應世界的空洞，而奧德莉為什麼如此迷人呢？或許因為她的虛無不來自某種傷痕，也不因虛無而縱欲，這是無頭蠅和蜻蜓的分别。作者為奧德莉設計了一套以重複為母題的音效系統，輔助營造影片整體的虛無感， ...
完成度很好。由表及裡似乎有很多矛盾的設置，但是捏合在一起又很協調。作為處女作，有成型的美國獨立電影美學，一種類似薄荷糖的清爽質感
過去三十年美國獨立電影能成就Jim Jarmusch，卻又近乎遺棄Hal Hartley，這種遺憾大概也是我們時代消費主義本性又一症候。抛開趣味和觀念設定這些不甚高明的東西不談，Hal在其長島三部曲中以如此風格化情景劇式的編排所建構出的人物情感，卻最終在觀衆端達成了如此真摯的流動性。這樣天才動人瞬間，我可能在賈木許電影裡連一秒鐘都沒感受到過。

“人不能信任，隻能簡易，制下約定，并且遵守約定，才是好人。”影像風格平淡自然，電影通過一個殺人犯的歸鄉之旅展開叙述，在流言之中逐漸揭開昔日罪人的層層面紗，每個角色都相對精緻的同時還不乏一絲幽默。
