This is the peak of musical cinema I fear. I can write a whole essay about why Mamma Mia is the best queer cinema, it dismantled a lot of traditional family structures and portrayed so many beautiful relationships & friendships. It really takes a heart to write so well and tread so lightly about young love, old love, friends, family, womanhood and mother-daughter relationships at the same time. It made me cry and smile again and again thanks ABBA thanks Cher and Meryl Streep lol. Not a thing is more important than joy and love - if you hold on to these you’re probably doing fine my dear. ☺️
