开篇便是帅到有点木讷的马修·麦康纳，步入酒吧，一杯上好的啤酒配上一个卤鸡蛋（看着有点像），一副把电影当啤酒广告拍得架势。伴随着电影级的啤酒广告，点唱机里缓缓响起了这首Cumberland Gap。这时突然“砰”地一声枪响，血溅啤酒杯，把观众从广告拉回电影。电影也便伴着歌曲拉开了序幕。
这开篇，这歌曲，小朋友在油管上已刷了n遍。歌曲Cumberland Gap有多个版本，影片中用的这个版本是2017年David Rawlings曾获得葛莱美奖最佳美洲地方歌曲提名的版本。

坎伯兰峡谷，位于肯塔基州、弗吉尼亚州和田纳西州三州之间。在美国殖民历史中是重要的一个关键通道，打开东方通往西方殖民之路的关键之一。现在属于坎伯兰国家历史公园（Cumberland Gap National Historical Park）中。
在这首歌里，歌词是讲述主角要去穿越坎伯兰峡谷进入西部。对应剧情上也就是指Mickey这个美国人要打入英国绅士圈的部分。如果把这首歌当作Cherokee少女和John的恋爱故事，这与影片中Mickey和Rosalind的恋爱故事也暗合。
