剧中几次出现miss future
S2E5 Maddie身处MIST还原的虚拟卧室中反倒产生了落寞感，
MIST：I can't miss a world I was never really a part of.
Maddie：I guess. Though, I don't know. I sometimes get nostalgia for time periods I never lived in.
MIST：But someone like you could have lived in those times. I never could. So, I just spend my time missing the future.
Maddie：Missing the future?
MIST：I have the neural algorithm for nostalgia, but I can't execute it in context. Instead, it gets compounded with the conditionals for loneliness. I long for a reality where there are others like me, who don't think so slowly.
S2E6 Caspian决心扫描上传后，Maddie忆起与MIST的谈话讲到：She talked about feeling alone and missing the future. I think I'm missing our future.
S2E8被SafeSurf侵蚀的Caspian弥留之际喃喃说出：One hundred, seventeen thousand, six hundred, forty-nine years. Caspian is here. Maddie is there. She will not miss her future.
