觀看是随性與未知的。雖然看的裡維特不多，但是可以感受到他的每一部電影的視聽與文本概念都是全新的。同樣是全新，與戈達爾不同的是，電影是均勻和統一的，統一到每個鏡頭單位裡，所以哈哈，當你進入到電影後，因為已經熟悉了視聽概念，會有一點點享 ...
觀眾和主角們一起氹氹轉，家族情仇陰謀上演，利維特真是希治閣的好兒子。四式段落看似毫無關連又緊緊相交，Hermine Karagheuz算是Maria Schneider精神替身嗎？配樂段落又怎樣回應情節？男女主角戲裡戲外又發生什麼事？《Secret Defense》可視本片修正版，話說高達的《芳名卡門》是抄襲這部電影格式嗎？
類似《決鬥》的情節，抛開瑪利亞施耐德一副“這片什麼時候殺青”的稀爛表演不談，依舊是雅克裡維特擅長的三重陰謀、基于拉康建立的人物心理狀态命題、一些神秘學、超現實要素等标準。但是裡維特影片序列中慣常的對于神秘元素捕捉是失去靈性的，呈現結果就是松散的詭異幻想畫面的随機出沒（可能是英語片水土不服？），同時伴随着人物漫無目的的晃蕩最後又帶着非常強目的、夾雜吊詭的幻想畫面回歸導緻影片形散神也散，再用以音樂演奏阻斷感知浸入、間離叙事，影片中人物精神狀态投影在銀幕演奏一層和觀衆之間做的也不盡如人意，比較混沌的一個作品

這部比《決鬥》好多了，至少講人話，說人事，兩個半小時無處不在不間斷的炫技調度。夏布洛爾特呂弗裡維特這批新浪潮從不同的角度模仿緻敬解構着希區柯克，證明了誰才是真正的大師。
