86/100 一部托爾斯泰小說般的film-novel，某些黑夜或暗室場景帶有一種表現主義美學探索。
不懂菲律賓曆史的話看這部7小時意識流超現實作品的話，極其難以理解故事
完成度相當不錯的作品，值得7小時。導演用一個家族在1973-1974年衰敗的切片，將近代菲律賓歷史的血腥和殘暴以各個人物狀態以及接連的事件表現出來。無論是16世紀的家族殖民歷史的緣起，還是祖父臨終前仍最關心的權謀和殘忍，以及瘋家嬸那慌亂的敘述和悲戚的詠嘆，似乎都抵不過天地不仁，以緻最終隻能慨嘆時也命也的無奈。觀影後最深的印象是教授的慨嘆以及那年輕中尉的表現，最後他們凝結成了兩個質問，一是在可以沒有道德底線的統治者眼中，是否「子民」的一切福祉都能作為他的要脅籌碼，對內或者是對外？二是在傲慢的擁有知識的所謂精英和無知的人們面前，理性討論和前行是否都隻是鏡中花水中月般飄渺？而社會是不是最終隻會進入無限的暴力的循環？ p.s. 劇院裡有兩位菲傭面對著瘋狂的暴力和荒誕一直在開心地談吐實在隻讓人看到絕望
