Recognizing a reflection of himself in the young boy, Mr. Xie, the Old Fox, helped this young boy with "unfair things" to overcome the butchers. Under Mr. Xie's guidance, Liao Jie learned the art of survival and the pursuit of success, honing his skills with determination and intelligence. Meanwhile, Liao Tailai instilled in his son values of love, kindness, and optimism for the future, despite their modest circumstances.
As Liao Jie matured, he became a blend of his two paternal figures, navigating life with a mixture of cunning and compassion. Interestingly, the Old Fox resembles Takeshi Kitano.
